AB 701 (Gonzalez), the landmark bill to protect warehouse workers from injuries caused by abusive quotas, passed the Legislature and is on the Governor’s desk. Amazon workers fought to pass this bill. They have injuries twice the industry average and three times that of other private sector workers. That’s because they are forced to meet unsafe quotas that prevent workers from complying with worker health and safety laws and even penalized for going to the bathroom. AB 701 would prohibit quotas that prevent workers from following safety laws and provide new enforcement tools for workers and state agencies to keep workers safe.

AB 701 is sponsored by the California Teamsters Public Affairs Council, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, and the Warehouse Workers Resource Center and supported by hundreds of workers’ advocacy, civil rights, and community organizations.
